We spend a great weekend on the North Shore in Tofte. We explored the shore, visited Lutsen, played lots of games, ate great food and spent a fun weekend together.
We braved the chilly July morning and headed to Como Zoo. I'd love to say that David was crazy about the animals at the zoo, but I think he had more fun climbing on all the benches. We ate a picnic lunch and enjoyed a family day before I head back to work on Monday : (
Grandma Mary and Grandpa Dave just got back from their trip to Vegas. Mary bought all the kids Beatles Tshirts at the Cirque Du Soleil show, Love. Here they all are posing in their t-shirts. Hilarious!
Mikko is now 2 months old. He entered his 2nd month like a lion, and has ended it like a lamb, as they say. We're pretty sure his colic has ended...I wouldn't wish a colicky baby on my worst enemy. He is starting to smile a lot and has the most beautiful big blue eyes. Last night he slept 9 1/2 hours, hopefully that is a sign of things to come also! He weighs 11 lb 13 oz and is 22 1/2 inches long. 47th percentile for weight. He is such a little sweetie.
We all sure thought this was an adorable picture of Uncle Dusty and Mikko, until we realized....... Mikko was spitting up all over him!!! Mandy had to wash his shirt since he was heading out to a bar with friends afterwards.
Cool Dudes playing guitars. David and Uncle Corey jamming out.
Mikko cozy in the swing. It was much cooler weather than I expected. David is in the background running around and around the tent. Mikko napping in the tent. In his swing of course.
Mikko STILL swinging. The batteries started to die and I panicked a bit, but they made it through the trip.
Enjoying the campfire.
Enjoying a beverage by the fire. Mikko, that is.
Napping on Daddy's lap.
David and I ventured to the playground. He wanted to try out every swing they had.
Last night we went camping at Nerstrand Big Woods State Park. David has been talking about camping for months so we just had to go. We got everything we needed in the car, miraculously. Most importantly we brought Mikko's swing. David had a great time just running around and around the campsite, picking up rocks, putting rocks in the chairs, putting rocks in my shoes, putting rocks on the dogs, putting rocks in can coolies. Such a boy.
Mikko did AWESOME! He slept a lot, must be the fresh air. He wasn't fussy at all. He got up twice during the night but went right back to sleep both times.
Jimmy was Houdini. I woke up in the morning and he wasn't in the tent and I panicked. He had weazled his way through the tent zipper sometime before we woke up. I called a few times and he came running though. I guess the zipper needs to be closed at the top from now on.
We had a great time! Many more camping trips to come with my family of boys! Well, I guess there is Foxy, but everyone THINKS she is a boy anyway, even when she is wearing a hot pink collar.
David has NO FEAR! He saw Winnie and Viv tubing and told us that it was his turn next. So, we put the life jacket on him, he practically jumped off the dock into Mike's arms and here he is flying around Rainy Lake. Bobby and Mike Tubing
Pam took 5 kids out on the paddle boat!
David and Michael on the paddleboat. I think these two will become good friends with all the girls around!
David on Grandpa Huntz's boat.
Boating sure wears a guy out. He also has the evidence of eating Oreos.
