Random Boy Pictures

Forget the sandbox, the muddy spot in the yard is all the boys need.

We went and saw Bobby in his Church play - he was a Pharoah and had the biggest part in the whole show.

Last Sunday Damon and David went to the Twins Game. I couldn't find David's Twins shirt so he wore the one Mikko got for his birthday - a little small, but super cute.

Wednesday night Bennett came over to play with the boys. David showed him how to run around with trucks like a big boy.

Day at the zoo with the boys!

Mikko was super content just hanging out in the stroller the whole time. He just had to be holding his new Thomas the Train book and he was content.
Exploring a tunnel.

Checking out animals, still holding on to the book.

Looking at fish, with his book.

The otters were so fun to watch swimming.

Showing the wolf his Thomas book.

David got a trinket for his "Collection Box"

That is a big bear!

I swear he was smelling Mikko.

David though the "Dinosaur" bones were pretty cool.

Poor Mikko. I hadn't really planned our trip well. We had started the day planning to go to Underwater World, but David was sleeping in the car and I wanted him to nap longer so I decided to drive to the MN Zoo instead. But I wasn't prepared for how cold it was. We wandered through some of the outside displays and poor Mikker's hands were so cold. He didn't seem to really mind, and we warmed up on the Monorail. Some kids were dressed in sundresses so I wasn't the only un-prepared Mom at the zoo.

Luckily Daddy had a hat that was left in the stroller that kept him a little warmer.

Happy kid!

Had a really fun trip to the MN Zoo (unplanned) on Saturday. Daddy was working all day so I ventured out with the boys. The weather was icky which kept most of the people away so we had lots of space to roam by ourselves. The boys were great. We ended up buying a membership on the way out because the boys both really loved it this time. Last time we went Mikko was afraid of every animal. Can't wait for another trip. Next time with Daddy though!

David's week at the Shack

Following Grandpa in the woods.

Building a deerstand.

Taking a break with Grandpa.

Flying a kite in the Peterson Field.

Finding puddles.

Burger time.

Feeding the ducks - the river is really high.

Checking out The Soapy River

All tuckered out.

Grandpa made a "To Do" list for David's week at the Shack.

They almost checked everything off the 2 page list.

David got to spend a very special week at the Shack with Daddy, Grandpa Huntz and the dogs before starting pre-school. They were outside ALL DAY spending time in the woods, driving the 4-wheeler and completing their list. It was a very special week for the guys.

Two Years Old

Happy 2nd Birthday Mikko (Mikkster, Mikko Man, Mikko Monster!)

You are so loved!

At two years...

You are 25 lb 1 oz - 15th percentile

33 1/2 inches tall - 21st percentile

You love to give kisses.

You make us laugh all the time.

When there is something you really want or really want to do you run towards it yelling "Ya, Ya, Ya, Ya, Ya!"

Thomas the Train is your favorite - you shout in glee when you see that it is on TV.

You are a "late" talker like David was, but the words are coming. In fact, you learned the very important word "MINE" after your birthday party when David was trying to play with your new trains.

Speaking of trains - they are your absolute FAVORITE.

You stand at your train table forever and get really mad when David tries to take them.

You are FEISTY.

You love to read books. Your favorite are any "pop-up" books, the Little Engine that Could, Goodnight Moon, and of course anything Thomas The Train.

Your favorite food is Mac-n-Cheese. You also like cottage cheese, white bread and scream for juice pouches (or juice pies as your brother calls them).

You almost always sleep through the night and go to bed really easily.

You loves playing outside and love to take baths.

You love going to The Little Gym.

You have a special spot for all your grandmas. You cuddle up with Grandma Marlene, run to Grandma Carol when she walks in the door, and Grandma Mary gives you backrubs that put you in a trance.

You and David are going to be quite the pair growing up together. Oh boy, Mommy is in for a crazy household. The running and rough play is something I am not used to. Good thing Daddy is used to that!

Big blue eyes and blond hair - you are a beautiful, bright, cheery boy.

We love you dear Mikko.

First Day of Preschool

Monday was David's first day at his new preschool. Getting ready in the morning he was fine, but when we go there and it was time for us to leave it was very hard. He was crying and hugging us. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do - turn around and walk away.

9:00 - Called the school and got a report that he had been crying off and on and was standing at the window watching for us.

2:00 - Broke down and called back. He was doing well. He had told his class about his weekend, ate lunch, participated in the group activities and was laying down for naptime - whew!

4:30 - Damon went to pick him up...and HE DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE!!!

He said his backpack was SO heavy : )

Proud parents.

We told David he could pick any dinner he wanted after his first day.

He picked Perkins. The restaurant with the green sign is how he describes it.

Sprinkle pancakes (and 3 jelly packets) were chosen.

Happy Mother's Day

We celebrated Mother's Day twice. Saturday night we went to Ichiban with my parents and had a blast. My Dad talks to everyone, but the time we left our waitress was calling him Finland.

Sunday we went to The Malt Shop with Damon's Mom and siblings. Yummy. Bad weekend for my diet though : )

Mikko's 2nd Birthday Party - Jackson Street Roundhouse.

Two boys in boy heaven!

We rented out the Birthday Party train car. So adorable -just perfect!

Showing me Thomas - his favorite.

Amazing cake by Carrie. It was just adorable and so yummy.

She is so talented.

Fun for all ages!

Exploring the museum.

Pizza lunch

Mikko didn't eat much, but continued playing with trains, even on his plate!

He kept his Engineer hat on long enough for one picture.

Heading out for our train ride.

Wait for the little engineer!

The birthday boy got to ride with the engineer - it was a real treat!

All Aboard!

Everyone else rode in the train car.

Both boys were loving it!

Sophia on the train.

Mommy and Mikko

Turning the wheels was a big hit.

Group shot of all the kids.
