Holidazzle

Hot Chocolate before the parade.

Auntie Carrie was like Mary Poppins when she revealed the hot chocolate she had hidden in her purse.

The kids got balloon animals.

Grandma Carol came along.  It was the perfect night to hit the parade.  There were hardly any people!  What a change from previous years.  Mikko squealed in delight for the floats.  It was a hit!

A Quaint Family Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving at home - just the 4 of us.  I had never cooked a whole Thanksgiving meal ever (I've never even made a turkey).  So together we spent the day cooking and everything came out great.  David helped set the table.

Homemade butter making was a hit!  What fun...and we burned a few calories doing it.

We started the day downtown Minneapolis for the Turkey Day 5k.  TONS of people.  David did his first race and got his first race event t-shirt and a medal!

During the race there was a kids carnival at the Lifetime Fitness at Target Center.  The boys stayed and played and played and played!  No incidents and they didn't seem to mind that we left them there.
My running girls!  The Westfork Women!
Mikko ALWAYS does the funniest thing when we get on elevators.  He holds onto mommy or daddy's leg.  Glad I finally captured it. It is pretty cute.

Very Busy Saturday - Daddy is hunting.

We started the day making a new "house rules" sign. Be respectful, Do your Chores.  Clean Up After Yourself.  All of us need to follow these rules.  The boys "bedazzled" the rules with a million rhinestone stickers I had and we put it on the fridge.
Next we ventured to a Model Train Show up in White Bear Lake.  We were greeted by Santa and both boys loved him.
They got to push the button that made the ferris wheel go round that the train rode in.  Pretty cool.

I had to take Mikko out of the show kicking and screaming.  Boy loves his trains!
Easy lunch at the Train Show!
Next it was off to hockey!

Hanging out at the rink.

Then the Fraser's came over for baking, crafting and dinner.  These are our "Pinterest" thumb print turkeys.  We came to the conclusion that the Pinterest photo was NOT the work of a child.  Our kids turkeys came out much more interesting.

Watching Toy Story 3 on the couch.

When it was time for them to leave Mikko went and got his coat.  He wanted to go home with Auntie Carrie.

Turkey Bingo

David's school had Turkey Bingo last night.  The whole school was invited for a free dinner, bingo and raffle.  David was SO excited to go and it was really adorable to see how excited he got when he saw his teacher serving meatballs, the principle, and the other kids in his class.  He'd get really excited when one of his friends won a round of bingo.

Beans were used to make the spots.  Which were very interesting to Mikko.  He constantly grabbed the beans off our cards and by the end of the night was sticking them down the back of my shirt for entertainment.

So fun to see David so excited for a school event.  It is a great school and David is finding his place.

Last Weekend

At Hockey Giant baking their skates.
Putting their skates on after baking them.

We made scrambled eggs into shapes.  Making dog bone eggs made Mikko actually try some.
David thought it was funny I made him Moose Eggs.

Candy Lane.  Mikko liked to plow over his opponents play pieces.
