David's "Collection"

Painting his "Collection" Box

I put his name on it.

David loves to pick up rocks, twigs, leaves for his "Collection". We have many random natural objects in our house. I thought it would be fun to make a treasure chest for his collection.

We went to Michaels and David picked out a box, paint and stickers. We spent the evening making a Collection Box. Now there were will be a home for all the rocks!

A sad day but a new beginning for David

Hugs for Heather

Today was David's last day of daycare. He has been with Heather since he was 3 months old.

He will start his new Preschool on May 9th. We are so excited for him, but he is scared for it. I brought him to visit this week and he was pretty apprehensive.

He is going up to the Shack to spend the week with Daddy, Grandpa Huntz and Grandma. They are leaving on Monday. Then he'll begin his new preschool the following Monday.

Thank you so much for Heather for being such a wonderful provider. Mikko will stay with Heather until David begins kindergarten in 2012, then he'll head to preschool.

The Royal Wedding - MSRS Style!

I was up watching the wedding at 3:45 am. I baked these scones at about 4:30 am.

They turned out super cute!
Annie was in the spirit.

Roxie wore a British Flag sweatshirt and tiara.

Today we celebrated the Royal Wedding at work. Hats, tiaras and all!

Love my co-workers and the fun we have. Couldn't ask for a better group of work friends.

Guess who is KING OF THE CASTLE?

Mikko the Giant

David got this castle for Christmas from Grandma Mary and Grandpa Dave. He has just recently gotten really into playing with it. I think it is because we have been watching
The Princess Bride.

When David was about one year old we went shopping at Target with Grandpa Dave. At the checkout Dave saw that movie on an endcap and thought David needed it. Well, now that he is 4 1/2 he does love the movie, but hides behind a pillow during the scary parts. Watching it is really special because Grandpa Dave bought the movie for him.

Over the last two days David developed enormous weird blisters on his arms, about an inch high, they were so weird.
Today I brought him to the Pediatrician and she determined it was Poison Ivy.

Easter Dinner at Mandy's House

Family Photo Op. We were all dressed up so we got some good family pictures. A few funny ones too.

The boys Easter outfits fit from last year which was great because I LOVED them!

Uncle Bob helping David with an airplane.

Mikko and Leah eating lunch.

None of the kids were at all interested in eating their Easter dinner.

Decorating cookies outside.

David sneaking a lick off a cookie - a very David move.

Wheee. Leah has the best swing that goes SO high.

We spent an absolutely perfect afternoon at Auntie Mandy and Uncle Corey's house.

The weather was perfect so the kids played and played outside. Bubbles, airplanes, cookie decorating etc. Carrie, Bobby and Greta joined so it was even more fun to have all the kids playing together.

Easter Morning

We were up at the crack of dawn and David remembered IMMEDIATELY that the Easter Bunny had come overnight. Poor Damon had a gig last night and didn't get to bed until 3:00. David woke him up so we could do our egg hunt and find the hidden baskets.
David's basket was under the kitchen table.

Their loot. David couldn't figure out which basket was his because he loved everything in both baskets and thought it was all for him. Next year: label baskets with the names.

Checking out each others goodies.

Train - always a hit with Mikko.

Collecting eggs.

Getting a lift from Mom to collect eggs.

Checking to see if the bunny at the carrots. He did, and even nibbled on the paper plate.

Easter grass fun.

On the way to church with Grandma Carol.

Another egg hunt at church.

Mikko checking out the musicians.

Daddy played at church today.

Carrots for the Easter Bunny

Putting carrots on the front step for the Easter Bunny.

We put a ribbon around the carrots for the Easter Bunny and David wanted to put a special sticker on it.

Easter Egg Coloring with Greta and Bobby

Mikko was overcome with excitement.

We tried to get a picture of all 4 kids in front of our fancy Egg Display.
We knew it was a bad idea. Noone would cooperate.

Except Bobby

Carrie made me a birthday cake.

When we blew out the candles David said he wanted to make a wish too.

He wished that "Foxy would stop licking me all the time".
The boys sitting in their new chairs for outside. Mikko fell out of his twice already.

VIDEO of Mikko's technique of coloring Easter eggs. Needless to say, we had to eventually remove him from the table because he was hurling eggs all over the place.
