O' Christmas Tree

My two very eager helpers!

Last night it was delivered by the Fraser Express all the way from the Westfork. I ALWAYS request a skinny tree because of our cozy quarters. This year Grandpa DELIVERED! He cut the top off a 30 foot tree. It takes barely any floor space. I love it! The boys LOVED LOVED LOVED decorating. Mikko is starting to talk so much so was super excited to name every ornament that he put on the tree.

And we sang our new standard version of O'Christmas Tree.

Oh Christmas Tree

Oh Christmas Tree

Jimmy pee'd on my Christmas Tree

Several years ago we were out in the woods cutting trees and Jimmy lifted his leg and pee'd on Bobby's freshly cut tree. So, we have a new standard Xmas song in the Wagner family.

Holi"fizzle"...I mean "dazzle"

We ventured to the Holidazzle Parade last night thinking it would be so great with the warm weather. There were SO many people it was kind of a disaster. Mikko hated being in the huge crowd and hated the fireworks display even more. Lots of crying. I had to hold all 28 pounds of him for over an hour and I could barely feel my arms or lift them afterwards. He eventually enjoyed the parade from way back where there weren't so many people.
This is how close I had to be to try and get a shot of Damon holding David. Damon was pouring sweat holding him on his shoulders the whole time. Wearing winter coats ended up being a bad idea. Next year we are going to go to Holidazzle on the coldest day possible and hope the crowds aren't so big. Oh, and the other thing...some dumbass ran a red light through a crazy busy intersection and we could see him texting while driving. He seriously could have killed a whole crowd of people.
We picked up Little Caesar's pizza on the way home because we were all starving. I had to have a beer but could barely even hold it to my mouth because my arms were so tired from holding Mikko.

David decided he wanted to wear his sparkly ice show vest to bed. I was too tired to care one little bit.

Happy Thanksgiving!

David helped me make a pumpkin pie. We had an extra crust from the package so we did Halloween cookie cut outs on top. He was pretty proud of it and wanted to keep looking at it in the fridge.
We had a great afternoon at Grandma Carol's with Dusty and Erin. So much good food.

David said he is thankful for:
Food
Vacation
Mom and Dad

We didn't ask Mikko but he'd probably say:
Choo Choo Trains
Orange Juice

Thanksgiving 5k Run!

I ran the TD5K with Jana this morning. I am so glad I signed up for it. There thousands and thousands of people. Great energy and a super fun way to start the day!
Waiting to start. It took us 10 minutes to get to the starting line but from there on you could run. Lots of crazy dressed people, dogs etc.

After I crossed the finish line. So proud of myself for running the whole way.

My House of Boys!

Mikko wants to be a hockey player too!

The easiest way to entertain Mikko when we go out to dinner. Draw a train track out of crayons on the back of the coloring sheets. Endless entertainment for him.

We even made tunnels out of beer coasters.

This is what I have to look forward to for years to come. I came upstairs to find that David had not only layed out all his hockey equipment in front of the fire to dry, he had placed his nut cup on a stocking hook to dry. We got many laughs out of it.

"Nut cups roasting on an open fire", "The nut cup was hung by the chimney with care".

We explained the danger of hanging anything in front of the fire to David. A glimpse of all things "boy" I will have to deal with in years to come. Nothing like a quaint fire on a cold November evening with nut cups drying.

5K Turkey Trot

This morning a bunch of us did a 5K race by Mystic Lake. We have all been diligently training for the past 2 months but were still nervous before the race began. Luckily we beat the snowy cold weather. Here we are before the race.
It was fun for us to do this together!

Damon did awesome for not much training!

Mary and Christine coming in strong!

I was quite pleased with myself. I was 3 minutes faster than I had planned to be. It was a really tough hilly course. I had not trained at all on hills. Next year I will! I wasn't even that close to being last!!

We were all pretty happy when it was done. We were even planning the 5k events we are going to do over the next year!

Last August I decided I needed to do something to live a healthier life. I think I have found my "thing"! I had planned to attempt a 5k around Thanksgiving - Chad and Christine were also planning on it, so our plans came together. I really think that running is now a part of my life. I find myself craving it and feel bummed on the days I don't get to get outside and go for a jog. Although I am pretty slow now, I plan to keep training and see where this newfound hobby takes me. I've never felt better and I feel I have a new "spring to my step" these days.

13th Annual Westfork Women's Weekend!

This year we gathered at a new location, Chase on the Lake in Walker. We rented a great 5 bedroom lakeside cottage.
The "Elders"...or "Hot Mommas" as they like to be referred to.

The "kids" headed out to a bar on Friday night.

Festivities to celebrate Carrie's arrival. Many cheek hurting laughs.

With my forever BFF!

School Carnival

Tonight we attended David's School Carnival Fundraiser. Lots of fun games, food and a silent auction. It was fun to see so many kids and parents supporting the wonderful school David attends!
Grandma Carol came along, being the wonderful G'ma that she is! Always good to have an extra hand with 2 boys (Damon had a gig).

Fishing game.

Cookies.

David's First Hockey Practice

David is a Mighty Mite in the Minneapolis Storm hockey association. His team is purple and they are called the Ducks. He is #54! Damon was really bummed to miss his first practice. Thank God Grandma Carol came over to watch Mikko. I don't think I could have done it without her.
Very excited to hit the ice the first time. He hadn't skated since last April so I didn't know what to expect but he totally picked it up right away.

Breezers look a little too big.

He was actually pretty good hitting the puck!

Training drills.

Listening to the coach. (third from the left)

Quick guy.

Going after the puck.

Happy Halloween 2011

All ready to go!

Off they go! We had so much fun in my friend Roxie's neighborhood last year that we went again. All the houses are completely decked out. Roxie gets over 1000 Trick-or-Treaters - it is so popular.

Mikko was an awesome trick or treater! We didn't have to carry him once. I got some "hot chocolate" at Roxie's house as a treat!

Double fisting suckers.

Sorting his stash of candy.

David was so excited to hand out candy when we got home. We had me writing down the number of trick or treaters and would get so excited when he saw kids walking down the sidewalk.

Handing out candy. These kids were super lucky because Mikko was helping. He gave out handfuls of candy to each kid.
