I Did It!

Here is a picture of Me, Carrie and my Mom last year when my sister did the 3-Day. At the time I said "I couldn't ever do that". I didn't think I could raise the money and I thought I wasn't fit enough to do it.

But, 7 months later,
my first BIG challenge is complete. I raised the minimum $2300 to participate in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3 Day! Amazing. I am hoping to raise even MORE through my team's Garage Sale in May and any other way I can think of.

I have such generous family, friends and coworkers. I was shocked at the donations people gave me...people at work I barely even talk to wrote checks because they have experienced the effects that breast cancer has had on their lives. People thanking ME for doing this because they lost their Mom way too early.
_______________
I've already begun the 24 week training program and am into my 4th week of the training. I feel fantastic!
______________
On Saturday I went to an organized training walk at the Mall of America. I went by myself and ended up walking with a group of ladies in the 60s. One of the ladies, Marilyn, was a Breast Cancer Survivor and had also lost her sister to breast cancer. She had done the 3-Day 5 times but this year she wasn't doing it. I asked her why she was at the Training Walk and she said she wanted to come out and support the walkers any way she could because she said we are doing such an amazing thing, she wants to be a part of it even though she isn't going to do the event this year. I left the training walk feeling so proud of myself and more convinced than ever that I can do this!

Twins Tickets

Dave grilling steaks. Everyone was in their Twins Gear. Too bad Nick Punto wasn't home to see us all donning our Twins apparel.
Dusty, toting David, and his beer!

Sophia and David had their own Kids Table. I think
Dusty was jealous.
Sophia is sporting her first Pig Tails - super cute!

Mikko wanted to join the kids table too.

David beating Uncle Corey up.

Attempt at a group photo.

Farm Petting Zoo at Bachman's

David got to pet bunnies, baby chicks, and ducks.

The baby calf came over to visit Mikko and smelled his feet!

Grandma Carol helped David plant a flower.

Putting the flower in the hole.

Voila! Gardening is easy!

We ventured over to Bachman's on Saturday morning for the petting zoo with Grandma Carol. What fun! We went to lunch at Tailgate afterwards. Both boys were perfect! Another fun day!

Friday Night Fun

David got lots of use out of this toy...looks like Mikko will too.

Mikko is now pulling himself up to a standing position.

David jamming out on his guitar, here he is taking a "Juice Pie" break.

Here comes Mikkster to join the band.

Daddy will be proud. I think we'll have some musicians in the family!

David's anatomically correct robot

I picked up David from daycare the other day and Heather was laughing as she handed me David's artwork for the day. He drew a robot. He pointed out the arms, the nose, the head, the legs etc. But he also noted that his robot has private parts! Notice on the bottom in the middle, there are a few little circles he drew. These are the robots private parts! I guess we've been talking a lot about body parts with the toilet training. So funny!!!

Dusty Will Appreciate This Scene

Dusty will appreciate this scene - the little brother beating up the big brother.
I had Mikko in the pack-n-play to contain him and David wanted to go in too.
Mikko took charge.

Jimmy likes to go to bed with David because it is earlier than we go to bed. David loves to have the company.

David's rendition of Jingle Bells

Instead of singing "Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way". He sings "Jingle Bells all the way to the Beer Store". Britta will LOVE this one.

Wisconsin Dells

David liked to push Mikko in the stroller to the Waterpark!

I can't count the number of times David went with Daddy down the slide.

Away they go!

Mikko hung out in his "Tube" most of the time. He was a "Chillin'" Baby.

Goofy Mikkster!

Mikko spent lots of time with Grandma Carol

The boys hanging out at the pool . We were so proud of David because he asked to go to the bathroom every time, even in the pool!

Mikko's cheeks matched Grandma Carol's Florida Tan!

The boys playing in the pool.

They are going to be quite a "pair" growing up together.

Mikko exploring! He is definitely not one to "sit around"!

The boys in their matching cover-ups!

Getting ready to go to the pool.

Chillin' little dude.

Mikko figured out how to open our food cabinet.

David made houses for his bugs and dinousaurs out of the lamp.

Grandma Carol and David slept together. Here she is reading to David before bed.

Weekend at the Wisconsin Dells
***************************
We won a Silent Auction at church for 2 nights in the Dells. We stayed at a Timeshare attached to the Mt. Olympus Water Park. We visited the water park 3 times. There was just enough to do for David and Mikko. It was so fun to have Grandma Carol along. She loved spending time with the boys and it was so good to have 3 adults at the water park to watch after the little ones.
Both boys were so good. David was entertaining with all his creative stories. Mikko entertained us with all his moves he is doing now.

David' Favorite Restaurant - EVER

All Smiles in his "Buffalo Phil's hat".
We had dinner at the coolest place. A train delivered your dinner and drinks. There was a train set up around the restaurant and when you placed your order w/ the waitress it was delivered by a toy train. It was the most fun I've had at a restaurant.

It was such a treat to see David "light up" so much!

Here is a picture of the restaurant as we walked in.

Chocolate Milk delivered right to David' seat by train!

Here comes our dinner!

David got so excited every time the train came out to deliver food.

Choo Choo!

We are defintely going back the next time we visit the Dells!

10 Month Mikko

Happy Guy

Hmmm, what are these....

Looks interesting up there...

I'm gonna try this out (notice Jimmy's dog dish that I am trying to keep away from him)

Sitting in the Bumbo (trying to contain him)

I SO want out of here

Escape from the Bumbo

Mikko - 10 Months - On the move and lots of teeth.

Mikko figured out the crawling thing this month and boy is he on the move. If you don't watch him for 10 seconds you don't know where you'll find him. He gravitates towards electrical outlets, Jimmy's dog dish, and the Bathroom.

He now has six teeth and is starting to look a little more "little boy" than baby. Surprisingly at his 9 month checkup we learned that he is now only in the 18th percentile for weight. He is taking after his big brother and moving down the "percentiles".

He is happier now that he is crawling and still likes to see Mom or Dad in the middle of the night.
