Love my wild boys!

At least Mikko was smiling at some point.
_______________________________

I had a night out with my girlfriends (smile) and Damon brought the boys over to Grandma and Grandpas for pictures. Mary buys all the kids matching PJs for Halloween that are always super cute. I literally buckled over when I came home and looked at the pictures on the camera of all the cousins in their matching Halloween outfits. Mikko looked like a "high maintenance baby model" and David looks a little crazy. Priceless, once again.
Thanks Dave and Mary.

ALL BOY

Riding a bike...

Climbing...

Watching stuff burn....

Playing with trucks...

Making skateboard ramps...

And playing baseball...

all while dressed up in a Dinosaur costume that is too small. He is all boy!
____________
After Mikks went to bed last night we had a fire outside and enjoyed time with Daddy. There may be reports of a Dinosaur in Southwest Minneapolis in the news.....

Minnesota Zoo

Mikko's first encounter with the otters. Apparently they are super scary.

Mikko crying while David is laughing at the otters playing with a basketball.

Grizzly Bears

David in front of the snow leopard lounging in a tree.

Zoo pictures are never quite as good as you hope. They are mostly of the back of the kids' heads.

Mikko was actually looking at an animal and not scared.

As we walk up to this exhibit of exotic camels, David says "Look at the ducks, Mom" and completely could care less about the camels. Moving on then.....

There was a scarecrow display. David had his picture in front of the MN Wild one so we could show Daddy. He didn't want to get too close though.

Onto the Tigers. Apparently after you get a ginormous sucker, Tigers aren't very interesting.

So, Mikks was scared of the cute otters playing with basketballs, but this massive Tiger got no response.

I wonder if he wants some of Mikko's goldfish

After church and a nap we headed to the Minnesota Zoo. It was awesome.
Hardly anyone was there...pretty sure it was because the Vikings were playing. Damon had to work so I thought another outing was in order. Again, the boys were great! It was fun with David this time at the zoo, he actually really cared about seeing the animals (mostly anyway), and Mikko was content sitting in the stroller the whole time. We got a good walk in and enjoyed a sunny September afternoon.

Busy Saturday

David was wearing his Halloween costume from when he was 2 years old around the house. It was pretty short. He added to the costume by sporting his rain boots.
We ventured over to the Full Moon Festival at Wagner's Greenhouse on Penn Ave. Thanks for the idea Grandma Carol - it was great!

David and Mikko listening to stories.

Photo op?

Painting a pumpkin. By the time it was done it was pretty much all brown.

The boys got a kick out of walking/running through the greenhouse.

Face Painting.

After naptime we headed to an Open House at The Little Gym. David takes classes there on Wednesday nights. Today anyone could come and play. David showed me some of his moves, as daddy usually takes him there.

Mikko was squealing and screaming and just loving it. Considering a class if we can find the time to add one more thing in our schedule. But he LOVED it.

Look at the concentration!

Mikko found a new friend. He LOVED this gal and smiled away at her. They played and played.

David playing a game.

After the Little Gym we went to our new favorite ice cream shop - Liberty Frozen Custard on Nicollet Avenue. The last couple Saturdays we've walked up there on Saturday afternoons for ice cream. They have one scoop cones for kids for 93 cents!

Damon worked all day Saturday so I planned a busy day with the boys. I get stir crazy (so do they) if we are home all day, not to mention a little crabby, so we were pretty much out all day doing stuff. It was a great day, they were both well behaved, and I even bought a pair of new shoes - ooh la la. We went to Herbergers, which was ridiculously busy. It took a really long time to get waited on in the shoe department so I had David picking out shoes that he thought people would like. For example, there were tall silver boots he thought Mandy should have. Black and pink loafers for Sophia. TOTAL MOM shoes for Carrie (sorry Carrie), and the same TOTAL MOM shoes for Carol. Grandma Mary got silver sneakers. Greta got orange tennis shoes. Leah got tapestry style flats. Grandma Marlene got fancy brown strappy sandals. It was pretty funny.

A little late, but today I finally brought David in for his 4 year check up and Mikks for his 15 month.

David is 61st percentile for weight and 18th percentile for height.
David got two shots.

Mikko is 21st percentile for weight, 9th percentile for height.
Mikko got 4 shots (ouch!)

I've decided that next time I attempt to bring them to a doctors appointment together, Damon has to come along...it was SO HARD.

But, they are happy healthy boys!

First Trip to the Dentist

He was a champ. He had Xrays, had his teeth cleaned. He gagged a bit on the flouride treatment but was cavity free! I was delighted by how great he was at his first dentist visit!

Walk around Lake Nokomis

We walked around Lake Nokomis Sunday afternoon and had a picnic dinner.
Look how I caught Mikko drinking his milk...no hands.
Me and Mikko with the "Lake Monster" in the background.

David and Daddy checking out the Monster.

Happy 4th Birthday Ms. Gretzky!

Greta had her 4th Birthay party at Afton Apple Orchard. Check out her awesome Hello Kitty Birthday cake made by Carrie, of course.
It was a beautiful day for a party at an apple orchard, and not many people there so we had most of the place to ourselves!
David and Gretzky taking off to play when we arrived. They sure are quick, those two.

Gretzky riding the tire horsey.
Grandma and Grandpa drove down for the party. They'd never miss out on a party!

David feeding a goat. He didn't like how the whiskers touched him.

Mikkers checking out the animals with Grandpa Huntz. He isn't really an animal guy so far in life, unless it is our big obnxious dogs.
David climbing the tire hill.

David's turn on the tire horse.

Two of my 3 guys!

Greta and David on the Hay Ride

Damon, Mikkers and Grandpa Huntz on the Hay Ride.

These stickers were in the gift bags from the party.
David found a new use for them.

He covered Mikko in them too!
