Family Fun on the way home.

David got a Hole-In-One. The hole ahead of us was cheering him on.
In front of the Pirate Ship -it was a super fun course. Mikko carried his little plastic golf club around the whole 18 holes and had a grand old time.

David got a Pirate Eye Patch for completing the course.

After golfing Damon and David went on the Go-Carts. Super fun.

The boys were so good. Love my little guys so much. And the big guy too : )

Clamshell Beach Resort

Group Cousin Shot - we thought they were improving after the Xmas PJ shot, but we took a turn the other way on this one.
Needless to say, David thought the bunkbeds were pretty cool. You even get a glimpse of Mikko getting his diaper changed - sorry about that : )

Grandma Carol came up to say goodnight to the boys.

Pool Time.

Unfortunately, Mikko saw a Thomas the Train Table in the pool changing/shower room (of all places to have one) and did NOT want to swim. He stood crying and pointing at that building. He won out and Damon took him to play. Playing with trains outranks swimming on the Mikko fun scale.

Mary rented a pontoon boat for the day. Mary and Grandma Carol were the navigators. We all felt COMPLETELY confident in their skills.

It rained so there was a picnic dinner inside.

Carpetball Tourney at the Lodge.

David's turn.

It came down to Grandma Carol and David in the Final. Grandma Carol was the champion.

Group shot.

Bike Riding Guys

The new nightly ritual - Daddy and David ride their bikes around the neighborhood.
There they go. Damon said that David always goes in front but sometimes crashes because he turns around to see where Daddy is.

It begins!

Today Mikko clearly looked like he had to poop so on a whim I sat him down on the potty. He sat watching Thomas the Train for about a half hour. No luck with pooping, but he did pee! Today was the first attempt, we'll see how it goes!

Day at the Zoo with Gustie Girlfriends and kids

We spent a beautiful day at the Zoo with Billie and her girls and Amanda w/ her kids. Here we are on the tractor ride to the farm. We definitely don't get together enough. They are all growing so quickly - time truly flies by. We missed Wendy though - next time.
We saw a lot of this at the zoo - all six kids from the backside looking at animals.
Pretty cute!

Mikko escaping the photo op!

Josie was the girl in charge of the boys. She really couldn't get enough of Mikko.

I bought lunch and all Mikko ate was ketchup. He'd dip his finger in it and lick it off. Vegetables, right?

Of course kids always find the most dangerous path to walk on.

Playing in the Splash Pad at the end of the afternoon. In the background David is trying to catch water in his hat.

Hot Diggity!

Greta and Bobby came over tonight to spend the night with us because Carrie and Charles are going to sweat at the Twins Game. They all ran in the sprinkler. I sat on the front step watching them and even my eyelids were sweating.
Ice Cream Cone Break.
Mikko's dripped all over him and he was wiping it off his belly and licking his fingers.
Gretzky and Bobby had to wear some of David's clothes because they didn't bring their swimsuits.

Heaven's Valley Lodge - Winona

Our second trip to Heaven's Valley Lodge. This time Grandma Carol came along for the fun. It was a hot hot weekend but we still had so much fun. Here we are before we left on Sunday morning.
Saturday morning we got up to collect eggs from the Hen House. David went with Daddy, he came out pinching his nose from the smell but couldn't wait to show us all the eggs he collected.

Love that they are in PJS and rain boots. Mikko was pretty excited about the eggs but not the chickens.

Laughing with Grandma.

The air was so thick with fog. David could barely hold on to this swing last year, but this year was just a champ on it. He has grown so much.

The cattle in the misty morning - love this picture.

Swinging with Grandma.

The end of a hot day!

Making smores with Grandma.

Dinner together

Playing "Poker" with Grandma.

Lark Toy Store

One of our favorite places to go - the Lark Toy store in Kellogg, MN - the most amazing toy store on Hwy 61. We love love love it. Here we are on their beautiful carousel.
Grandma and Mikko.
The Winona Daily Newspaper was there for a story taking pictures. The photographer took pictures of Mikko (she told us how adorable he was) and was going to feature him in a story abou Lark Toy Store. I'll post a link when they run the story!

David riding the dragon.

Extreme action shot of the boys.

Mini Golf. We played 18 holes of mini golf in the extreme heat. David played the hole time. I had the most amazing game ever. Damon wondered why I don't play real golf. I was seriously on fire that day.

The one cool spot - in the tunnel.

Grandma "literally" tore Mikko away from the Thomas the Train room in the Toy Store to come out and check on the mini-golfers. She said it was a real scene to rip him away.

Mikko dancing in front of a fun mirror and David telling us what toy he got to pick out (A cap gun).

He got to pick out one toy and when he saw it he just had to have it. Not Mommy's first choice and I told him it was something for the Shack only. He also got to pick out one book and he picked out a Berenstain Bear book - some innocence remains I guess : )
